damage and leakage. It’s a labor intensive process to hard chrome a new surface.
It takes about a week under normal conditions.
And the result is unsurpassed.
•The old chrome is stripped off by electrolysis.
•The rod is precision ground to a smooth surface.
•The rod is then inserted into the Chrome tank where Chrome is slowly applied by
electrolysis. It takes approximately 3 hours per thousandth inch.
•The rod is removed from the tank and seasoned for 8-12 hours. The new surface
is a dull gray.
•The rod is then polished to a high gloss, precision finish.
